Mateo Kovacic completed a brilliant pre-season for Real Madrid and his two games against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup were just as brilliant, man-marking star Lionel Messiwhile also distributing the ball effectively. Now, Juventus have sent a €70 million offer for the Croatian midfielder only to see it rejected by Real Madrid, according to AS.
Kovacic, still 23 years old, appears to be the first man off the bench whenever a midfielder is needed. Not only can he replace Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, he also proved that he can play as a defensive midfielder in Casemiro’s spot as well, which makes Marcos Llorente somewhat expendable.
Real Madrid are planning to reject every offer they receive for Kovacic. Modric isn’t getting any younger and Kovacic will be expected to be a starter for Madrid very soon. He has improved quite a lot as a player and he will still be better when he gets more experience.

Barcelona had a third bid worth £118million turned down for Coutinho on Friday.
Liverpool have insisted their playmaker is not for sale at any price, but Coutinho has handed in a transfer request and is attempting to force his way out of the club.
The third bid may have been worth a record fee for a Premier League player, but the money was not guaranteed.

Barcelona’s offer is made up of potential add-ons, for example if Coutinho wins multiple Champions League medals or a Ballon d’Or, Liverpool would be entitled to a bonus.
It is believed the money upfront would be around £82m and Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo claim Liverpool have told Barcelona the add-ons are not acceptable.
Liverpool want most of the £118m fee immediately as they want to reinvest the funds into new players this summer.

Barcelona will continue to pursue Coutinho until the window slams shut and will accelerate their efforts to sign him even further this week.
The Spanish giants have timed their past bids on the eve of important games for Liverpool.
Coutinho’s transfer request on the eve of the new season followed a second bid while the third offer comes the day before Liverpool’s first home game of the campaign.

Liverpool's statement on Coutinho

‘The club’s definitive stance is that no offers for Philippe will be considered and he will remain a member of Liverpool Football Club when the summer window closes.’
Jurgen Klopp has ordered FSG to keep hold of Coutinho, but has refused to rule out any further transfer business.
‘A transfer window is a very important time but it’s also important what we do with the actual team,’ he said.
‘We will see what happens. I don’t know actually

Antonio Conte believes Chelsea need stronger foundations for the future
Antonio Conte believes Chelsea need stronger foundations for the future
Antonio Conte insists Chelsea must look to model themselves on London rivals Tottenham if they are to enjoy continued success.
Chelsea will look to bounce back from their shock opening-day defeat to Burnley when they travel to take on Spurs at Wembley this Sunday, live on Sky Sports Premier League.
Conte has been impressed with the work of his opposite number Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham and the Italian believes the north London side are in a stronger long-term position than his own club, despite finishing as runners-up in the Premier League last season.

Ivan Perisic is set to sign a new contract at Inter and put an end to any speculation over a move this summer, according to reports in Italy.
The Croatian playmaker has been linked with a Premier League switch, with both Chelsea and Manchester United said to be interested in securing his services.
But according to Sky Italia, Perisic will ignore the advances of the two English giants in favour of a new, £90,000-a-week deal to keep him at the San Siro.

Manchester City are determined to prise Evans away from West Brom as Pep Guardiola sets his sights on the Premier League title.
The Northern Ireland international has spent the past two years plying his trade at the Hawthorns after leaving Manchester United.

And Evans played a major role in West Brom's tenth-placed finish last season.
However, manager Pulis has admitted that the 29-year-old nearly moved to Arsenal last year but ultimately decided to stay put.

“He had a chance to go to Arsenal last year,” Pulis said.

The Eagles travel to Anfield on Saturday to face Liverpool, in Frank de Boer’s first competitive match against a top six side.
With the Dutchman still searching for his first victory in the Premier League, we preview the game.
Kick off: 15:00
Venue: Anfield
Referee: Kevin Friend
Palace are likely to field a mainly unchanged side from the 0-3 defeat at home to Huddersfield. However, with Wilfried Zaha out with a knee injury, Andros  Townsend is likely to come into the starting XI. Pape Souare has returned to full training but is still not match fit, as are Connor Wickham and Bakary Sako, out with knee and calf injuries respectively.
Predicted XI: 13. Hennessy, 24. Fosu-Mensah, 6. Dann, 44. Riedewald, 2. Ward, 3. Van Aanholt, 4. Milivojevic, 42. Puncheon (C), 10. Townsend, 8. Loftus-Cheek, 17. Benteke.

On the bench, there is a chance of returns for Yohan Cabaye and James McArthur, after the duo returned to playing in red and blue in the U23’s match vs Burnley.
Liverpool will be without midfield talisman Philippe Coutinho once again, as the transfer speculation regarding his potential move to Barcelona refuses to die down. He is out with a back injury. The Reds will also be without striker Daniel Sturridge and right-back Nathaniel Clyne due to respective injuries.
Predicted XI: 22. Mignolet, 18. Moreno, 32. Matip, 6. Lovren, 66. Alexander Arnold, 5. Wijnaldum, 23. Can, 14. Henderson, 19. Mane, 11. Salah, 9. Firmino.

Both teams will be desperate to get three points on the board after disappointing opening weekends. After a tough game in Germany against Hoffenheim midweek, Palace will look to capitalise on the extra day’s rest. Liverpool on the other hand, won’t want to disappoint in their first home game of the season, but Coutinho’s absence will prove to be a big factor for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Manchester United are set to reignite their interest in signing Fabinho from Monaco, say reports

Manchester United are poised to reignite their interest in signing Fabinho from Monaco after their move for Serge Aurier fell through, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish outlet Don Balon, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that the Red Devils are poised to make a fresh move to sign the 23-year-old Brazilian as Jose Mourinho searches for his fourth signing of the summer.
The same report states that Manchester United have stepped up their interest after a move for Paris Saint-Germain defender Aurier collapsed.
The story also suggests that Monaco would be willing to do a deal with the Red Devils for a fee of around £40.6m (€45m).
Mourinho knows Fabinho well, having given the Brazilian his debut as a Real Madrid player back in 2013, and it is claimed that the Portuguese coach is still a big fan of the player.
Manchester United completed their third signing of the summer last week when they tied up a deal to bring Nemanja Matic to the club from Chelsea.
The Red Devils, who take on Real Madrid in the Uefa Super Cup on Tuesday, have also signed Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku as Mourinho prepares for his second campaign in charge at Old Trafford.

REAL MADRID manager Zinedine Zidane has responded to Jose Mourinho's admission he wants to sign Gareth Bale at Manchester United.
Bale has been heavily linked with a move away from Real Madrid this summer as the La Liga champions look to raise funds for Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe.

And Mourinho added fuel to speculation suggesting Bale could be heading to Manchester United, claiming he would 'fight' other managers for his signature should the Welshman become available.

Ahead of tomorrow's Super Cup between United and Real, Mourinho said on the possibility of signing Bale: “Well if he’s playing tomorrow, no I wouldn’t think of that.

“It’s because he’s in the coach’s plans and the club’s plans, because he also has that motivation to continue at Real Madrid.
“If he is not in the club’s plans, that with the arrival of another player would mean he was on his way out, I will try to be waiting for him on the other side and fight with other coaches that would want him on their team."

And when Zidane had the chance to quash speculation surrounding Bale, the Real boss opted to side-step the subject of Mourinho's comments on three occasions.

The Frenchman refused to issue a hands-off warning over the 28-year-old, but admitted he was happy to have him fit after an injury-plagued season.
"I think what's important is that the player is feeling well," the Real boss said.

"On top of that, he's had a lot of continuous training sessions with us and that's what is the most important.

"At the end of last season it wasn't easy for him, he was almost out for four months through injury but now he is very well, very concentrated, he trains with the team.

"What interests me and what is important for us is not what the coach said, it's what we are going to do tomorrow. That is all."

Jamie Carragher believes Antonio Conte will not be Chelsea manager this time next year, even after the Italian signed a new two-year contract with the Stamford Bridge club last month.
Speculation over Conte's future rumbled on all summer as his disputes over the club's transfer policy continued to leak into the public domain, with the manager who guided the Blues to the Premier League title last season keen to assert more control over the football side of the club.
Yet the kind of influence Conte is seeking has been denied to all Chelsea managers since Roman Abramovich bought the club in 2003, with the Italian tactician's sullen mood since he returned for pre-season training last month has been hard to overlook.

Conte hinted at disagreements over Chelsea's transfer efforts once more after his side's Community Shield defeat against Arsenal at Wembley on Sunday and now former Liverpool defender Carragher has suggested his time at the club will be brief.
"I'd be very surprised if I'm sitting here in 12 months' time and he's the Chelsea manager," Carragher told Sky Sports.

"I think he's the type of manager who won't accept the involvement from people above, especially on the back of winning the title.
"He's not going to go quietly and it's not great for the club when the manager is coming out and speaking the way he is."

Carragher went on to suggest Chelsea's ruthless decision making over their managers may soon see Conte fall victim of their short-term approach to their touchline technicians.
"What I would say is Chelsea have a business model, a very ruthless one. They're a bit like Real Madrid in that I don't think they value the manager like other clubs do.

"They're not scared to get rid of a top manager or get rid of someone after 12 months, but you can't really complain. Since Abramovich came in I think they've won more trophies than anyone.
"They have a model where they have a big say over how that club is run; the owner, Emanalo and people involved there.

"Maybe that is a frustration for Conte. He wants more players coming in."

SKOPJE, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Macedonia's capital, Skopje, is about to host its first UEFA Super Cup Final Tuesday at 20:45 hours. Real Madrid and Manchester United will play against each other to win the trophy. Both teams arrived Monday at the 32,000 capacity Philip II stadium to hold a training session at the pitch. Before that, Real Madrid and Manchester United coaches, Zinedin Zidan and Jose Mourinho respectively, held a press conference where they both expressed their high expectations for this important match. The preparations for the redevelopment of the stadium to host the Super Cup started months ago while Macedonian side were fully engaged in upgrading it to the UEFA required standards.

The Macedonian government and football association here provided around 343,000 U.S. dollars to guarantee the necessary conditions for UEFA Super Cup clash. UEFA has provided financial support too. However, it seems that high temperature degrees will be the main obstacle for the two teams' players as temperatures here are around 15 degrees higher than in Manchester or Madrid. However, UEFA are set to allow water breaks during the match so the players are not dehydrated. Real Madrid will give the lead to its star Christiano Ronaldo for this match despite his pre-season injury while Manchester has trusted Romelu Lukaku.

A woman who was once on a wait list for breast reduction surgery has revealed that she drastically decreased the size of her breast over the course of seven years through diet and exercise. See everything here

She’s like an angel to me.

I credit her with saving my life.

When we met I was drinking, taking drugs and hanging out with some terrible people.

She literally took me under her wing.

She drove me back to her flat after our second date and we made love for three whole days.

She opened my eyes to passion, excitement and love.

Now I fall over backwards to buy her things and make her happy.

Unfortunately, I’ve had a few lean months at work and now my bank balance makes very grim reading.

Being over-the-top has always been my way of showing my love, but hefty price tags take their toll.

What she doesn’t know is that I don’t earn as much as I used to.

Work has slowed right down.

I hate to worry her with stupid things like income and bills, but the truth is that she has no idea how much debt we’re really in.

We went on a fabulous holiday at the beginning of July, which has pretty much wiped me out.

From cocktails and scuba diving to lobster dinners and nightclubs, we went through the card.

It’s her birthday next month, for which I’ve promised her a big party and a decent ring.

I don’t know how I’m going to cope.

She’s already really excited.

I’ve never left her down and feel such a failure.

I’m terrified that she’ll stop loving me and will leave if she realises her lifestyle will change and she’s not going to have as much as all of her friends.

What am I going to do?
